Facing your F.E.A.R.S

Many of us stray away from things that take us out of our comfort zones. We are so used to certainty that we stick to what we know instead of indulging into something new. It’s the fear of failure that we are scared of. Think about how many times we talk ourselves out of doing things, especially things that are not good for us? Now consider the amount of times we talk ourselves out of doing something that has great potential for us to succeed in!

F.E.A.R has two meanings:

Forget Everything And Run

Face Everything And Rise

What does Fear mean to you?

Recently, I have had my own personal experience of facing my fears and WOW! It has been almost life changing in such a short amount of time I feel like a new person!

For a long time, I have always heard “Erika you would make a great salesperson” Although I never denied the fact that I would be good at it, I feared a lot of things that came with that type of field. Such as the commission based pay structure. I never wanted to allow my ability to make money dependent on people who did or did not want to buy.  It was a BIG fear of mine. As much as I knew I wanted to learn a new skill, I did not want to take the risk that was associated with that type of career and the bad reputation that salespeople got due to lack of integrity. I finally realized that they type of salesperson I want to be, it’s all in my control! If I want to be the BEST OF THE BEST, I will BECOME the BEST OF THE BEST! I was determined to learn about sales and most importantly START SELLING! I recently accepted my first career in sales with Raymour & Flanigan. Like everything else, you have to know your product, believe in your product, and sale your product! That’s what I have been doing so far! My ability to let go and let GOD do his thing has allowed me to land this opportunity! Now to see how far I can take it, is the question!

Miracles can happen in all stages of life when we  decide to face our fears.

You know how you know you would be great at doing something, but you haven’t actually done it before? That was me with Public Speaking, something I believe many of us are afraid of! The first step to succeeding at something is to begin the learning process. I always felt like with my amazing personality and grand speaking voice, that it would be easy to do things such as speaking in fron of a crowd. Wow, was I wrong (Inserts nervous laugh). Talking to people one on one was easy, I am able to connect and build rapport immediately! But when we start talking about a group, you were speaking a new languge to me. I would get soooo nervous. All the eyes watching you as you speak and move around the room. I knew I wasn’t ready for that, so I stayed away from my natural ability to host events with my positive energy! After enough running, I decided I had to do it! I hosted my first event in a longgggg time & in the beginning I was nervous, but by the end I was loosened up and connecting with all those in the room. It felt amazing! Living testament that I can succeed in anything I want! But In order to get better at something, you have to START and not give up on it! The proof is in the pudding.

Enough about me though, I just want it to be crystal clear that your fears could be the one thing holding you back from living the life you always dreamed of. Success is not an accident and it does not happen over night! Facing your fears goes beyond just going for it, but sticking with it. Seeing the progress you’re making! You’ll be amazed at the effect it can have on you.

Facing your fears can have a life changing positive effect on your health, your wealth, and your success! And if you do not believe me – there is research to prove it!

I hope that you will make the decision to come out of your comfort zone and trust in your abaility to learn and succeed in something new! GOOD LUCK!!
